Boy Scout Troop 13 -First Christian Church, Scottsbluff, NE.

We are a part of the Longs Peak Council, Tri-Trails District; chartered through First Christian Church of Scottsbluff, NE.

Meeting times:
Mondays at 7:00PM

Location:
2102 Avenue A
Scottsbluff, NE 69361-1935 (See map)

We are an active troop and have weekend activities such as camping, backpacking, canoeing, and Camporees at least once a month. Visitors are certainly welcome to join us! See you there!

As many of you know, Tylar Gilman passed away in July, 2010.  He was an Eagle Scout in Troop 13 as was his brother, Trever.  Jim is now one of our valuable adult leaders and is carrying on Tylar's spirit.   Jim is leading a project at Camp Laramie Peak to add additional space onto the dining hall and make some other much needed renovations .  He is doing that, in part, with the help of memorials that were given for Tylar.  Troop 13 is very pleased to make a  donation for this great cause and to support Jim and Kathy.  Any of you who want to support the project are certainly welcome to do so as well.  Thanks Jim for all you do for Troop 13.

We will not have a meeting this monday.  It is Presidents' Day, and there is no school for Scottsbluff.  It is customary to not have Scouts when there is no school during the School year.  We will meet again the following Monday on 2/27/12.  Everyone have a good Presidents' Day.

Below is our upcoming schedule:

Just a reminder that we have a Crossover Ceremony with Pack 5 on Friday the 24th.  It will be at the First United Methodist Churck on 4th Ave, and 20th Street.  It starts @ 6:00P.M.  Lets have as many Scouts there as we can, and welcome them into our Troop.  If anyone has any questions give me a call.  632-6890.

  • We are scheduled to attend summer camp this year at Camp Laramie Peak from June 24 to June 30.  Cost is $240 per scout and $150 per adult.  This is the highlight of our camping year so I encourage everybody to attend. This camp is a great opportunity to earn merit badges, work on advancement, participate in some extreme events and to hike some beautiful mountains.  As a troop we will earn some discounts on the cost that will be applied to the last payment for camp. I donft know yet what those discounts will be but would hope that we can take at least $25 off the price for scouts.  For those who are interested, I need you to sign up as soon as possible and get $50 to our treasurer, Margaret Hancock.   50% of the balance of the fee is then due on February 1 with the remainder due on May 1. Please sign up and pay the initial payment quickly.
